This thesis is written by Rd. Roro Citra Utami Putri, under supervision Drs. Alex Sobur, M.Si as the first supervisor and Drs. Manap Solihat, M.Si as the second supervisor. The title of the research is “The Adaptation of Video Journalist (VJ) in Patroli Criminal News Gathering Process in PT Indosiar Visual Mandiri.
The aim of this research is to find out the adaptation of Video Journalist (VJ) in Patroli news gathering process.
The research uses qualitative approach. The method which is used in this research is descriptive method. Descriptive method is used for analyzing and describing data that have already collected. Data are collected through interview, observation and library study. . The sampling technique is sample using purposive sampling.
The result of the research shows that VJ adaptation is influenced by several factors. There are internal factor and external factor. The internal factors are a motivation and willingness to adapt. And the most influencing external factor is the work environment. The obstacle in the adapt process is the lack of skill and incentive.
The researcher suggests that the company hold some training for VJ and give higher incentive to them. By doing these, the writer hopes that the VJ skill will be improved and gives better work performances to its company.
