Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui Bagaimana Aktivitas Komunikasi Dalam Upacara Adat Pernikahan Tionghoa. Untuk menjabarkannya, maka fokus masalah tersebut peneliti dibagi ke dalam beberapa sub-sub masalah mikro yaitu situasi komunikatif, peristiwa komunikatif dan tindakan komunikatif dalam Upacara adat Pernikahan Tionghoa. Metode Penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif studi etnografi komunikasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 3 (tiga) orang yang diperoleh melalui teknik puposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dokumentasi, internet searching dan studi pustaka. Teknik uji keabsahan data dengan cara pemeriksaan sejawat dengan diskusi, peningkatan ketekunan dan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh bahwa pada situasi komunikatif Upacara Adat Pernikahan dilaksanakan di rumah, gereja dan gedung , dimana dalam proses tersebut terdapat tahapan yang harus dilakukan. Pada peristiwa komunikasi Upacara Adat Pernikahan terdapat beberapa komponen. Genre yaitu warisan tradisi secara turun-temurun, topik yaitu menghormati garis keturunan tionghoa, fungsi dan tujuan yaitu menghargai dan menghormati leluhur dan keluarga garis keturunan tionghoa, setting yaitu 21 mei 2016 dengan tiga lokasi yang berbeda, partisipan yaitu garis keturunan tionghoa dan tamu undangan, bentuk pesan yaitu bahasa indonesia, isi pesan yaitu harus tetap memakai budaya pernikahan tionghoa, urutan tindakan yaitu lamaran, sanjit, teapai, pemberkatan, pesta pernikahan, kaidah interaksi yaitu aturan tradisi kegiatan terdahulu, norma interpretasi yaitu prosesi upacara menjadi keharusan. Pada tindakan komunikasi Upacara Adat Pernikahan yaitu berkomunikasi menggunakan komunikasi verbal dan simbol secara non verbal. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa Aktivitas Komunikasi dalam Upacara Adat Pernikahan Tionghoa diwariskan dari turun temurun oleh leluhur mereka untuk mewujudkan rasa hormat dan menghormati leluhur dan orangtua, serta dimana dalam adat pernikahan ini dijalankan oleh garis keturunan tionghoa. Saran dari peneliti agar masyarakat etnis tionghoa terus budayakan upacara adat pernikahan yang sudah menjadi tradisi ini.

This Research aims to find out how the communication activity in Chinese traditional wedding ceremony. To explain it, focus of the problem, researcher divide in to some sub micro problems such as communicative situations, communicative phenomenon and communicative behavior in the Chinese traditional wedding ceremony. The method used in this research was qualitative ethnographic study of communication with symbolic interaction and cross cultural communication supporting theory. The subjects in this study consist of three participants who were obtained through purposive sampling techniques. The collection of data employs in-depth interviews, observations, documentations, internet browsing and literature reviews. After that, the validity tests of the data are done by making discussions with colleague, increase the persistence and triangulation.The results of this research obtained that communicative situation of Wedding Ceremony can be held in home, church and ball; in which there were certain steps that have to be done in the process. In the communication event of traditional Wedding Ceremony, there were several components in it. Genre was known as the heritage from generation to generation; the topic was respecting the Chinese lineage; the function and purpose were to appreciate and honoring the Chinese ancestors and its family lineage; the setting is May 21st, 2016 with three different locations; the participants are Chinese lineages and its invited guests; the form of the message was Bahasa Indonesia; the content of the messages was to keep implementing the Chinese traditional wedding culture; the sequences of the action are proposal event, Sanjit, teapai, blessings, weddings; the rules of interaction were the rules from the traditions of their previous lineages; the interpretation norms of the procession ceremony norm becomes imperative. In the Traditional Wedding Ceremony, the action of communications was using verbal communication and symbolic non-verbal communication. To conclusion, the Communication Activity in Chinese Traditional Wedding Ceremony are inherited from generation to generation by their ancestors to bring respect and honor for their ancestors and parents, in which the wedding itself is being held by Chinese lineages. Lastly, the suggestion of this research was that the Chinese ethnic communities should continue in keeping their traditional wedding ceremonies as their tradition.
