This title of this final project is "An Analysis of Figurative Language of Nine Mash up Song Lyrics in Glee Serials". It is aimed to identify the figurative language used in the mash up song lyrics and to analyze the meaning that related to the story of Glee. The object of the research is Glee's mash up song lyrics that contain the figurative language. There are nine Glee mash up songs for the limitation of study in this research. The limitation is based on the theme of the song. Those are motivation and competition. The qualitative research is used in this research. The results point out that the figurative language that is mostly used in mash up song lyrics of Glee is hyperbole because it gives an extravagant and exaggeration effect.
