This final project entitled An Analysis of Figurative Language in Ellen DeGeneres Show aimed to identify the use of figurative language in talk show named Ellen DeGeneres Show. Furthermore, the meaning and purpose of figurative language used in the talk were interpreted. The data chosen was one full episode on Ellen DeGeneres Show. Qualitative method was applied due to the non-numerical form of data. The result of the analysis showed that type of figurative language mostly used in Ellen Degeneres Show was Anaphora as it can help the host to emphasize his/her idea. Also, it is used to give vivid and clear explanations or description expressed by the host. Keywords: figurative language, talk show, Ellen DeGeneres Show, language style, public speaking.
