This final project is entitled An Analysis of Idioms Translation in Little Women Novel. The aims of this final project are to identify the types of idioms found in the English version of Little Women novel, to analyze and classify the strategies used in translating idioms from source language (English) to target language (Indonesian) of the novel and to calculate the quality of idioms translation in terms of the accuracy, acceptability and readability of idioms in Little Women novel. Qualitative research method applied in this study. To select the data, 100 idioms were taken randomly from 180 idioms found in the novel. The theory by Seidl and McMordy was used to classify the types of idioms and the theory by Baker was used to analyze the translation strategies. Four translation strategies were applied by the translator to translate this novel. Idiomatic phrasal verb is the most dominant idioms types found in the novel and similar meaning and form is the most dominant translation strategies was applied in the novel. The result shows that the idioms translation in this novel is accurate, acceptable and readable. This result indicates that translation strategies similar meaning and form is the best strategies to translate idioms in this novel. Moreover, there is a significant implication of using the strategy to the quality of translation. Keywords: Idioms, Translation Strategy, Quality of Translation, Little Women, Classic Novel.
