This final project entitled An Analysis of Rhetorical Devices Used by Indonesian English-speaking Stand-up Comedian offers the explanation of discovery toward the rhetorical devices used by Ernest Prakasa on TEDxUbud and Reggy Hasibuan on #StandUpNiteBDG3, and its intended meaning. Also, the application of therhetorical devices was analyzed, for the readers are able to know how it utilized on the joke structure. This research implemented qualitative method to analyze the joke delivered by the comedians. The result of analysis shows that understatement, repetition, and hypophora were the most frequently-used rhetorical devices employed by the two stand-up comedians. The rhetorical devices supported the structure of presented joke; setup, pivot, and punch-line. Keywords: Stand-up comedy, Indonesian comic, rhetorical devices, joke structure.
