The topic of this paper is an analysis of translation technique of phrasal verbs used in the subtitle of Hunger Games movie. The aims of this paper are to find out the types of phrasal verbs, to identify the translation techniques used, and to rate the quality of accuracy, acceptability and readability of phrasal verbs translation in the subtitle of the movie. The qualitative method was applied in this study. The Brizee theory (2010) is used for identifying the types of phrasal verbs, the Baker theory (1992) is used for analyzing the translation techniques, and the theory by Nababan (2009) is used to rate the quality of translation. The result presents there are 37 (47%) intransitive, 26 (33%) transitive separable, and 16 (20%) transitive inseparable phrasal verbs. The mostly used translation techniques is a paraphrasing one. Moreover the phrasal verbs translation in the subtitle of the Hunger games movie are accurate, acceptable and readable.
