This final project examines Transposition translation procedure in President Joko Widodo's speech. One of translator's problems is grammar; in order to solve it, this study is aimed to find out grammatical changes in the translation from Indonesian to English text. In this case, Transposition is the only translation procedure concerning grammar. This study analysed the grammatical changes of each type of Transposition translation procedure in President Joko Widodo's speech delivered on 16 August 2017 at the Joint Session of the House of Representatives and the Regional Representative Council. The presidential speech is chosen as its important aim which is to shape public opinion of Indonesia. This final project uses qualitative methodology which focus on textual analysis. By examining the speech, the grammatical changes in each type of transposition are found. Type 1 is the most found which is 45 %. It concerns changes in numbers and adjectives positions. Type 4 is 37 %. It presents about the changes in unit of language and in virtual lexical gap. Type 3 is 14 %. It is related to the changes in word classes. Type 2 is the least found which is 4 %. It provides the changes of grammatical structure in sentences, and clauses. The implication of this study are intended for translators. They can use the result in order to get better understanding of the grammatical changes of translation from Indonesian to English. Moreover, they can imply the result to make their translation be more acceptable in English. Keywords: Translation, Transposition, Indonesian Grammar, English Grammar, presidential speech.
