This final project analyzes the types of sentence in some articles in National Geographic magazine. This project is conducted by analyzing types of sentences in some articles related to fauna. Besides that, the articles written in English are not easy to be analyzed since English is a foreign language for Indonesian people. The data were taken from ten articles related to fauna in National Geographic magazine of 2008, 2013, 2015, and 2016. The aims of the final project are; firstly, to find out what types of sentences used; secondly, to identify what types of sentences mostly used. A qualitative method used to analyze types of sentences in the articles and a simple calculation used to count the types of sentences used frequently. From 10 articles, there were 40 (51%) simple sentences, 32 (37%) complex sentences, 5 (7%) compound sentences and 4 (5%) compound-complex sentences. The result shows that simple sentences were mostly used in writing the articles related to fauna. This can be interpreted that the most use of simple sentences make the readers easy to understand the content and message of the articles. Hopefully, this research gives benefit to the readers and those who are interested in analyzing types of sentences. Keywords: Articles, National Geographic, Types of Sentences, Qualitative.
