PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII merupakan BUMN yang bergerak pada sektor perkebunan dengan kegiatan usaha meliputi pembudidayaan tanaman, pengolahan lahan, pembibitan, penanaman, pemeliharaan dan penjualan komoditi perkebunan. Kantor Pusat PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII telah menerapkan sistem aplikasi Office Automation (OA) dalam mempermudah proses pengelolaan surat-menyurat. Namun, dalam penggunaannya aplikasi ini belum efektif. Ada beberapa masalah dalam penggunaan aplikasi yaitu prosedur penggunaan aplikasi belum dilakukan dengan baik, perangkat komputer yang tidak mendukung, tidak digunakannya menu aplikasi dengan optimal, dan kurangnya sosialisasi penggunaan aplikasi. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat efektivitas penggunaan sistem aplikasi ini diukur dengan menggunakan dimensi-dimensi model kesuksesan sistem informasi menurut DeLone dan McLean dalam Jogiyanto (2007). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah tingkat efektivitas penggunaan sistem aplikasi Office Automation (OA) dalam kegiatan pengelolaan surat – menyurat di Kantor Pusat PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII dinyatakan sudah cukup efektif. Namun masih terdapat indikator yang tidak efektif yaitu indikator informasi yang akurat (Accuracy), kesesuaian informasi (relevance), keandalan divisi IT (reliability), cepat tanggap divisi IT (Responsiveness), intensitas penggunaan (level of use), kepuasan isi informasi (content), kemudahan penggunaan sistem (ease of use), dan ketepatan waktu sistem (timeliness). PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII is a State-owned Enterprise of Indonesia engaged in the plantation sector with business activities including crop cultivation, land processing, seeding, planting, maintenance and sale of plantation commodities. The Head Office of PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII has implemented the Office Automation (OA) application system in facilitating the correspondence management process. However, the use of this application has not been effective. There are several problems identified such as the application procedures have not been done properly, computer devices that are not compatible, the application menu is not used optimally, and the lack of socialization of application usage. To determine the effectiveness of this application systems is measured by using the dimensions of the information system success model according yo DeLone and McLean (Jogiyanto, 2007). This research used quantitative descriptive method. The result of this research is the effectiveness usage level of Office Automation (OA) application system in the management process of th correspondence in the Head Office of PT Perkebunan Nusantara VII is declared to be effective. However, there are still ineffective indicators that has been found, namely accurate information indicators (Accuracy), relevance of information (Relevance), reliability of the IT (Reliability), responsiveness of the IT (Responsiveness), intensity of application usage (Level of use), satisfaction of information content (Content), ease of use, and timeliness.
