In developing electronic-based government, as a realization of e-Government application the Purwakarta Regency Government develops Public Information Media (PIM) having an objective as information center about Purwakarta Regency Government and other information being useful for society and apparatus in Purwakarta Regency.
The method used in this research is a descriptive research method with qualitative approach. The data have been collected by the result of interview based on the informant’s determining technique, information Service subdivision head at the departement of Public Relation of Purwakarta Regency Secretariat. Based on the result of research it can be know that in the e-Government application through PIM at Purwakarta Regency it is not yet managed by a special intitution being active in the e-Government area such that there are several obstacles faced. Whereas the obstacle faced is there is no a technical regulation of implementation in the e-Government application through PIM at Purwakarta Regency. In addition, inter-agency coordination is not yet achieved optimally because it is still less understanding about the use or PIM for agency and the availability of apparatus number that can use the existing technological facility for supporting the e-Government application through PIM at Purwakarta Regency that is still limited.
In order to deal with the obstacle the Purwakarta Regency Government should establish a special institution managing e-Government application such that there is a provision of activity procedure and a tecnical regulation of the implementation of e-Government application. In addition, it is the best to be more dissociated about the utilities that an be obtained through PIM for agency and society in Purwakarta Regency.
