Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis terhadap kinerja keuangan pada PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) periode 2009-2011 dengan menggunakan laporan keuangan sebagai data analisis untuk mengetahui tingkat kesehatan dan potensi kebangkrutan pada PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero). Data yang diperoleh dari laporan keuangan dilihat dari neraca dan laporan laba rugi perusahaan yang kemudian diolah untuk mencari hasil dari rasio keuangan yang berupa Return on Equity, Return on Investment, Current Ratio, Cash Ratio, Collection Periods, Perputaran Persedian, Total Asset Turn Over, dan Total Equity to Total Asset. Alat analisis yang digunakan untuk mengetahui tingkat kesehatan perusahaan adalah Surat keputusan Menteri BUMN Nomor KEP-100/MBU/2002 tanggal 4 Juni 2002, sedangkan untuk mengetahui potensi kebangkrutan perusahaan menggunakan metode diskriminan Altman Z-score. Hasil penilaian kesehatan berdasarkan Keputusan Menteri BUMN Nomor KEP-100/MBU/2002 tanggal 4 Juni 2002 pada periode 2009 sampai 2011 setelah dikonversikan adalah sebesar 58, 64,5 dan 62 dengan kategori Kurang Sehat atau "BBB" untuk setiap tahunnya. Sedangkan untuk hasil analisis diskriminan Altman model, menunjukkan Perseroan pada tahun 2009 masuk dalam kategori "High Probability Bankcruptcy" dan tahun 2010 serta tahun 2011 masuk dalam kategori "Far For Being Bankcruptcy". Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa standar tingkat kesehatan Keputusan Menteri BUMN Nomor KEP-100/MBU/2002 tanggal 4 Juni 2002 hampir mendekati analisis diskriminan Altman Z-Score. This study aims to analyze the financial performance of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) in the period 2009-2011 by using the financial statements as the data analysis to determine the health level and the potential bankruptcy of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero). The data obtained from the financial statements that seen from the balance sheet and income statement of the company which are processed to find the results in the form of financial ratios (Return on Equity, Return on Investment, Current Ratio, Cash Ratio, Collection Periods, Total Asset Turn over, Total Asset Turn Over, and Total Equity to Total Assets). The analytical tool that used to determine the health level of the company is The Ministerial Decree No. KEP-100/MBU/2002 dated 4th June 2002, whereas, to determine the potential of bankruptcy of the company, the writer use discriminant Altman Z-score. The results of the health assessment by The Ministerial Decree No. KEP-100/MBU/2002 dated 4th June, 2002 in the period 2009 to 2011 after conversion is 58, 64.5 and 62 in the category Less Healthy or "BBB" for each year. As for the results of Altman discriminant analysis models, showing the Company in 2009 and 2010 is in the category "Far For Being Bankruptcy", meanwhile, in 2011 the company is in the category "High Probability Bankruptcy". It can be concluded that the standard of health level of The Ministerial Decree No. KEP-100/MBU/2002 dated 4th June 2002 is almost close to discriminant analysis Altman Z-Score.
