This project is entitled 'Creating a Book Collection of Original Short Stories for Young Adults; The Death of the Hamsters and Other Stories'�. There are only few original mystery short stories for young adults in Indonesia. This Final Project aims to produce an original Indonesian short story collection book which can entertain and teach young adults about good lessons through the messages in the short stories. The content of the book consists of five original Indonesian short stories for young adults. The short stories are about mystery and all of them take place in several cities and villages in Indonesia. There are illustrations for every story in the book. The data for this project are cultural and place-setting information taken from the Internet source, books, personal experience, and field survey. The stories are written by using straightforward style. Writing techniques used in this project are narrative technique, five senses technique, and show and tell techniques. As the result, the short story collection book titled 'The Death of the Hamsters and Other Stories'� is completed. This book can be published and be put in the public school libraries to encourage the students to read. This book may also contribute to the area of literature in English.
