The purpose of this research is to know how far the effectiveness of Press Relations in district secretariat’s Public Relation of Ciamis regency to image of institution in the realm of Ciamis regency’s journalist. To answer that question, the researcher determined the indicators. There are credibility and message that is conveyed by district secretariat’s Public Relations of Ciamis regency and perception, kognisi, motivation, and attitude of Ciamis regency’s journalist that can influence to image of institution in the realm of that journalist.
The approach of this research is quantitative and the method that is used in this research is survey method with the analyze correlation technique. The population are 205 Ciamis’s journalists and the sample are 68 Ciamis’s journalists. Sampling technique that is used by the researcher is Accidental sampling. This technique is spreading of questionnaire in a place directly to people that is met in that place. In this research, most data is collected through interview, spreading of questionnaire, and supported by literature study. The data analysis technique that is used to see the relations between variables is coefficient of Rank Spearman correlation.
The result of this research shows that the influence of communicator credibility to the image of institution is same and strong, and the correlation is 0,8, the influence of message to image is very high and correlation is 0,9, the influence of effectiveness to perception of journalist is very high and the correlation is 1, the effectiveness to kognisi is very high and the correlation is 0,975, the influence of effectiveness to motivation is very high and the correlation is 0,9, the influence of effectiveness to attitude is very high and the correlation is 0,9, the influence of effectiveness to image is very high and the correlation is 0,9. The result of data processing and conceptual hypothesis measuring (research hypothesis) of H1 is accepted, but H0 is refused. The result of this research showed that there is the influence of Press Relations effectiveness in district Secretariat’s Public Relations of Ciamis regency to the image of institution in the realm of journalist.
The conclusion of this research is the effectiveness of Press Relations in district secretariat’s Public Relations of Ciamis regency is significant.
The suggestion to create a good cooperation is Public Relations must often do Press Relations activity, so the image of institution in the realm of journalist or society is good.
