The title of this final project is "Grammatical Error Analysis of Three Travel Guidebooks". The major objective of this study is to find and analyze types of grammatical error occurred in three travel guidebooks based on the classification of grammatical error presented by Darus and Subramaniam (2009). It is also aimed at finding most common grammatical error occurred in three travel guidebooks. Since all of the data are in the form of text, textual analysis method is used to analyze the data. In this study, several procedures of analysis as stated by Corder (1974) are used. Those procedures consist of collection of sample, identification of errors, classification of errors, description of errors, and evaluation of errors. The data were collected from the three travel guidebooks and presented in the form of text in Microsoft word. The results of the study showed that there are four grammatical errors found in the travel guidebooks. Those grammatical errors are singular/plural with 15 errors, parallelism with seven errors, subject-verb agreement with six errors, and parts of speech with 12 errors. There is also spelling error found in the analysis. In this study, the most common grammatical error that occurred in the three travel guidebooks is singular/plural error with 15 errors. After analyzing the data, it is implied that the error occurred in the three travel guidebooks are mostly caused by the travel guidebooks' maker lack of knowledge in English grammar. This happened probably because they did not fully understand about the importance of grammar in an informational text. Keywords: Error Analysis, Travel Guidebook.
