IMPROVING THE VIII GRADE STUDENTSÃâ SPEAKING ABILITY THROUGH COOPERATIVE SCRIPT METHOD AT SMPN 1 GRUJUGAN IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2016/2017

The title of this research is : Improving The VII Grade StudentsÃâ Speaking Ability Through Coperative Script Metho at SMPN 1 Grujugan in the academic year 2016/2017. The aim of this research is improving speaking ability through cooperative script method.
In this research, the problem is ÃâHow can Cooperative Script Method improve the VIII grade studentsÃâ Speaking ability at SMPN 1 Grujugan in the academic year 2016/2017?Ãâ and the objective of the research referring to the research problem is to find out how Cooperative Script Method can improve the studentsÃâ speaking ability. Based on the research problem and the relevant theory, the hypothesis of this research is described as follows: ÃâCooperative Script through the script of recount text s the teaching media can improves the VIII grade studentsÃâ speaking ability at SMPN 1 Grujugan by providing interraction between students in pair group and make the students tell and share their understanding about the text
The design of this research is classroom action research. The research subject is the VIII grade students consist of 30 students. The instruments used are observation checklist and speakig test. In order to analyze the data studentsÃâ speaking score, the percentage formula is used.
Based on the result of preliminary study and the minimum standard score requirement, the actions are considered successful if 75% students achieve the target score, that is ≥70 and 75% students in eleventh grade are actively participated during the teaching and learning process.
In cycle 1, the implementation of Cooperative Script Method in the class is started by explain the material and the steps of Cooperative Script. In the cycle 2, the action started by explaining the material then directly give the students recount text and make a summary by using the cooperative script method. As the result, the use of Cooperative Script Method can improve the percentage of students score with two cycle, from 60% to 80% for speaking test and from 66% to 78% for studentsÃâ active participation. Based on the research result, it can be concluded that Cooperative Script Method is able to improve the students speaking ability by giving them leading questions, they become more active in teaching and learning process and they can share their ideas into good speaking.
