Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Bagaimana Konsep Diri Mahasiswa Asing Timor Leste di Unikom Bandung. Untuk menjawab masalah diatas, maka diangkat sub fokus-sub fokus penelitian berikut ini : significant others, rereference group dalam membentuk konsep diri mahasiswa asing Timor Leste . Sub fokus tersebut untuk mengukur fokus penelitian, yaitu : Konsep diri mahasiswa asing timor leste di Unikom Bandung.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Informan dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Informan penelitian ini berjumlah 13 (tiga belas) orang,untuk informan berjumlah 6(enam) orang dan informan pendukung berjumlah 7(tujuh) orang. Data sendiri diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, studi literatur, internet searching. Untuk uji keabsahan data dilakukan triangulasi data dan pengecekan anggota. Adapun teknik analisa data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, pengumpulan data,penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan, evaluasi.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan Konsep Diri mahasiswa asing Timor Leste adalah sudah terbentuk secara baik dan cukup kuat dari terpaan pengaruh faktor-faktor lingkungan. Konsep diri mahasiswa asing Timor Leste cukup dipengaruhi oleh peran significant others.Disamping itu peran rereference group yang terdiri dari sahabat atau teman dari mahasiswa asing Timor Leste tidak terlalu memberikan pengaruh besar dalam mempengaruhi pembentukan konsep diri.Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah, bahwa konsep diri mahasiswa asing Timor Leste dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor. Namun tetap faktor terbesarnya adalah berasal dari dalam diri mahasiswa asing tersebut dan faktor significant others dan rereference group memiliki porsinya masing-masing dalam pembentukan konsep diri dan yang lebih mempengaruhi adalah faktor significant others atau keluarga dari mahasiswa asing Timor Leste yang menjadi fondasi awal pembentukan konsep diri mahasiswa asing Timor Leste .Saran yang dapat peneliti berikan untuk mahasiswa asing Timor Leste adalah agar memiliki sebuah konsep diri yang lebih kuat lagi agar tidak mudah terpengaruh oleh terpaan dari faktor-faktor luar atau eksternal serta meminimilasir efek prasangka-prasangka negatif dari pengalaman orang lain maupun diri sendiri.

The aim of this research is to identify the self-concept of foreign college students from timor leste in UNIKOM Bandung. To find out the solution of this problem, the focus has divided into some subs and those are: significant others, reference group in form a self-concept of foreign college students from timor leste. Those are used to determine the research focus is self-concept of foreign college students from timor leste in UNIKOM Bandung .This qualitative research uses descriptive as the method. The informants choose by doing purposive sampling. 13 informants divide into two subs, 6 main informants and 7 as co-informants. The data is collected by doing in-depth interview, literary study, and internet searching. Moreover, researcher uses triangulation and member checking to check the validity of the data. Besides, the data is processed by doing data reduction, data collection, data presentation, drawing conclusion and evaluation.The result shows that the self-concept of foreign college student from timor leste has been mold well and strong enough from environment affections. It is influenced by the role of significant others. Besides, the role of reference group, friends or other colleagues for instance has no significant influence to mold their self-concept.It can be concluded that the self-concept of foreign college students from timor leste has been influenced by some factors. However the biggest factor is come from themselves and the significant factors also reference group has its own portion in molding up the self-concept. And the most significant factor is significant others or their family that become a basic foundation of the selfconcept formation of timor lesteÃâs students.Suggestions given to foreign students Timor Leste is will be better if timor lesteÃâs students are strengthening their self-concept in order to avoid some bad influences from external factors and to minimalize the negative assumptions from others or even their own self.
