This study intends to find out the concept of student self-smokers in the city of Bandung. The purposebr /br / of this research is to determine the student smokers interpret its self as a smoker in the city ofbr /br / Bandung. To find out how others interpret siginificant student smokers in the city of Bandung, how tobr /br / interpret student reference groups of smokers in the city of Bandung, and to know the concept ofbr /br / student self-smokers in the city of Bandung,br /br / This study used a qualitative approach with the phenomenological method, informants are used inbr /br / this study amounted to 9 (nine). Data obtained through in-depth interviews, observation, librarybr /br / research, internet searching, documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction,br /br / data collection, data presentation, drawing conclusions, and evaluasi.dan test the validity of databr /br / through the extension of the observation, increasing persistence, triangulation, discussions withbr /br / colleagues,. Membercheck.analisis negative casesbr /br / The results showed that student smokers interpret its self as a smoker that is the view that womenbr /br / smokers among female students is something that is reasonable and is commonly done. Significantbr /br / others interpret the student smokers are no parents who want their children to smoke, but because thebr /br / situation they were forced to let his condition. Reference groups interpret a student smoker that isbr /br / specific to the peers who they viewed women smokers were regular smokers only and are reasonablebr /br / in doing because they also is a smoker, while peers who are not smokers see smokers among femalebr /br / college student smoking behavior is in fact not a way to solve the problembr /br / The results can be concluded that the concept of student self-smokers is influenced by significantbr /br / others and reference groups, view the attitude of significant others and reference groups can influencebr /br / self concept of student smokers. Self-concept on student smokers tend to still view negative, although inbr /br / fact not all the smokers were naughty or bad is evident from the two subjects the researchers evenbr /br / though they are a smoker but they do not smoke in any place other than that they have achievements inbr /br / academic and non academicbr /br / The advice can give is for women researchers in the college student smokers smoking shouldbr /br / reduce its activity because it is not good for health, and for the parents should tmemberikan a goodbr /br / example by not smoking in front of children, and to friends of peers that are not easily affected bybr /br / environmental association
