This project is entitled Meaning Analysis of Eric Clapton's Song Lyrics. It is aimed to find the meaning of the song lyrics by identifying figurative language. Then this figurative identification was analyzed by using the theory of meaning. There are six song lyrics from Eric Clapton creations chosen to be analyzed. In addition, the song lyric was limited in the music period of 70-90's. This project applied qualitative method due to the data be in text form. The result shows that the writer used quite simple words which are figurative languages called assonance in the lyrics. However, there are 11 figurative terms used on the lyrics. It is also known that the meanings of song lyrics analyzed are about author's experience. Furthermore, most of the experiences are about his story of love.
