Penelitian berjudul ÃâNonlinear Narrative in Harry Potter and The Deathly HallowsÃâ ini meneliti tentang nonlinear narrative di novel Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Penelitian ini membahas bagaimana novel ini menggunakan nonlinear narrative dan fungsinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori naratologi milik Seymour Chatman (1978) dan teori nonlinear narrative milik Christin Bolewski (2011) dan J.R. Boulanger (2011). Penelitian ini menggunakan anachronous, order dan durasi untuk meneliti nonlinear narrative di Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Anachrony dan durasi digunakan untuk menunjukkan order yang tidak kronologis seperti flashback dan flash-forward di story-time dan untuk menemukan forking-path narrative. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan analisis deskriptif. Penemuan dari penelitian ini adalah nonlinear narrative terjadi melalui mixed anachrony, kombinasi dari internal dan external anachronous. Internal anachrony terjadi untuk mengulangi informasi yang diberikan oleh external anachrony, yang muncul dari luar plot. Nonlinear narrative digunakan untuk mengisi ruang di plot yang kosong dan foreshadow informasi.

The study entitled ÃâNonlinear Narrative in Harry Potter and The Deathly HallowsÃâ analyzes nonlinear narrative in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. The study discusses the way of the novel presenting nonlinear narrative and its function. It uses narratology theory by Seymour Chatman (1978) and nonlinear narrative theory by Christin Bolewski (2011) and J.R. Boulanger (2011). This study uses anachronous, sequence, and duration to investigate the nonlinear narrative in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. Anachrony and duration are used to show the appearance of non-chronological order such as flashback and flash-forward in story-time and to discover the forking-path narrative. The study uses qualitative method and descriptive analysis. The study finds that the nonlinear narrative occurs through mixed anachronous, the combination of internal and external anachrony. Internal anachrony occurs to repeat the information which was given by the external anachrony, which occurs from outside of the plot. Nonlinear narrative is used to fill in the gap and foreshadow some informations.
