Kota Jayapura merupakan ibu kota provinsi Papua yang terletak paling ujung timur Indonesia. Kota yang dikenal sangat kaya keindahan alamnya yang masih tetap terjaga, budaya yang khas dan unik hingga tempat-tempat yang menarik untuk di kunjungi, Kota Jayapura sangat strategis untuk dikelola sebaik mungkin untuk tujuan wisata. Baik wisata alam, wisata kuliner, serta tempat-tempat sejarah. Kelancaran dari kegiatan tersebut tidak terlepas dari tersedianya sarana transportasi yang baik. Namun dengan masih sangat minimnya dalam penyampaian informasi pariwisata dan sarana transportasi di kota Jayapura, mengakibatkan kurang menggeliatnya sektor pariwisata di kota Jayapura. Jadi diperlukan adanya upaya-upaya untuk membangkitkan pariwisata-pariwisata lainnya. Oleh karena itu angkutan umum memberikan kemudahan mobilitas masyarakat. Sebagian masyarakat Jayapura maupun para wisatawan yang berkunjung ke kota Jayapura, masih mengalami kebingungan untuk memilih rute mana yang harus ditempuh untuk sampai ke tempat yang ingin dituju. Begitu juga hotel atau penginapan, wisatawan kurang mengetahui informasi tentang hotel atau penginapan sekitaran objek wisata. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian pada aplikasi rute pariwisata di kota Jayapura, aplikasi ini dapat membantu wisatawan yang berkunjung ke Jayapura untuk mendapatkan informasi objek-objek wisata. Baik wisata alam, wisata kuliner serta merekomendasikan hotel terdekat wisata yang diinginkan wisatawan.
