Arsip inaktif merupakan dokumen milik perusahaan yang masih perlu dikelola dan dirawat. Record Center adalah suatu bagian khusus dari perusahaan yang bertanggung jawab mengelola arsip inaktif. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) memiliki arsip inaktif sebanyak 1.418.770 berkas yang terdiri dari tiga jenis dokumen, yaitu dokumen aset, dokumen umum, dan dokumen legal. Dari hasil wawancara dan observasi, Record Center PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) mengalami kesulitan saat mengelompokkan dokumen-dokumen yang terjadwal musnah sehingga dokumen yang seharusnya terjadwal musnah namun tidak dimusnahkan karena tidak terkelompokkan. Hal ini disebabkan dokumen yang sangat banyak, staf yang terdiri dari tiga orang, dan data yang tersimpan di beberapa folder yang berbeda. Tujuan dari penulisan laporan ini untuk membuat aplikasi database arsip inaktif di Record Center PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero). Aplikasi ini dibuat dengan Microsoft Access untuk mempermudah pengelompokkan dokumen yang terjadwal musnah. Pembuatan aplikasi database arsip inaktif ini meliputi langkah-langkah antara lain mengidentifikasi masalah, perancangan aplikasi, mendesain aplikasi, pengkodean aplikasi, mengetes aplikasi, instalasi dan perawatan aplikasi, dan pendokumentasian aplikasi. Hasil uji coba aplikasi yang dilakukan kepada Assistant Manager Record Center yaitu aplikasi yang dibuat telah memenuhi kebutuhan dari Record Center. Aplikasi ini sangat membantu Record Center mengelola arsip inaktif. Kata kunci: Arsip inaktif, Dokumen, Record Center.

Records is a document belonging to a company that still need to be managed and treated. Record Center is a special part of the company which responsible for managing records. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has 1.418.770 records that consists of three types of documents, there are assets documents, public documents, and legal documents. Based on interview and observation, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero)’s Record Center has difficulties when classifying documents which have to destroyed, so that documents which have to destroyed are not destroyed yet because it is not clustered. It caused by many documents, lacks of staffs, and data saved in different folders. The purpose of this report is making application of records database in PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero)’s Record Center. This application made by Microsoft Access for classifying documents which have to destroyed easier. There are few steps in making the application of record’s database. There are identifying problem, planning application, designing application, coding application, testing application, installation and maintenance applications, and documentation applications. The result of testing application which conducted by Record Center’s Assistant Manager is the application has fulfill Record Center’s need.
