Limbah plastik merupakan salah satu jenis limbah yang berpotensi mencemari lingkungan. Pemanfaatan sampah plastik menjadi minyak merupakan salah satu cara mengurangi tingginya jumlah sampah plastik. Dilakukan proses pirolisis untuk mengubah plastik menjadi minyak. Dengan temperatur pembakaran minimal 250oC, cukup untuk mengubah plastik menjadi minyak mentah.Jenis plastik menjadi perhatian, karena berpengaruh terhadap kualitas minyak yang dihasilkan. Titik lebur plastik menjadi faktor yang sangat berpengaruh terhadap waktu yang digunakan selama proses pirolisis. Pada penelitian ini digunakan jenis plastik LDPE dan PET dengan massa 0,1 kg tiap pengujian. Dilakukan variasi terhadap temperatur pembakaran, dengan batas maksimal 400oC.Salah alat yang penting dalam sistem pirolisis adalah kondensor.Berfungsi mengubah fasa uap plastik yang telah dibakar dalam tungku, menjadi fasa cair.Cairan yang dihasilkan merupakan minyak mentah yang dapat diolah dan digunakan sebagai bahan bakar.Media yang digunakan kondensor adalah udara dan air. Dilakukan analisis terhadap waktu, temperatur titik leleh, jumlah bahan bakar yang digunakan dan dihasilkan selama proses pirolisis. Plastic waste is one of the types of waste that could potentially pollute the environment. Utilization of waste plastics into oil is one way to reduce the high amount of plastic waste.
