The report titled “The Acquisition of Vocabulary and Student’s Capability in Reading English Text in SDN Haurpancuh I Bandung” describes the job-training activities of the writer in SDN Haurpancuh I in jalan Terusan Teuku Umar no. 87, Bandung. This report was written as one of the requirements to graduate from Diploma III Program English Department, Faculty of Letter, UNIKOM. In the job-training activity, the writer was posted as a temporary English teacher who taught English lessons in the form of mastering English vocabulary, reading English texts skill, writing in English skill, or pronunciation of English text. The difficulties of student in expressing their English ability, and student’s being active in the class became the main issues which the writer faced. However, the writer could solve the problems by giving a motivation to the student in order that they would have a willingness to show their ability in English subject, and always be active in learning English. As the result, games and English songs can help student in increasing the development of their vocabulary and capability in reading English text.
