Masalah yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimanakah meningkatkan hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas X Madrasah Aliyah Bahrul Ulum, Kabupaten Jember, dengan metode pembelajaran Cooperative Learning Tipe Think Pair Share (TPS). Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan manfaat kepada penulis sendiri, bagi siswa, bagi guru dan bagi sekolah.
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu tahap studi pendahuluan, siklus I, dan siklus II. Subjek penelitian siswa kelas X Madrasah Aliyah Bahrul Ulum Sumber Kejayan Mayang Jember. Pengumpulan data pada tahap studi pendahuluan menggunakan teknik tes. Teknik Tes berupa ulangan harian tentang pencemaran lingkungan.
Hasil penilitian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar biologi sub pokok bahasan pencemaran lingkungan dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran Cooperative Learning Tipe Think Pair Share (TPS), terbukti nilai rata-rata kelas pada studi pendahuluan 67,6 kemudian meningkat menjadi 78,4 pada siklus I, dan pada siklus II nilai rata-rata kelas sebesar 91,9. Setelah digunakan metode pembelajaran Cooperative Learning Tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) terjadi perubahan tingkah laku yang sangat signifikan. Siswa yang sebelumnya malas belajar, kurang aktif dalam pembelajaran dengan adanya metode pembelajaran Cooperative Learning Tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) siswa menjadi semangat dalam mengikuti pembelajaran, aktif, kreatif, dan mempunyai inisiatif meningkatkan kemampuannya.
Dengan begitu dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif learning tipe Think Pair Share dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar biologi subÃâpokok bahasan pencemaran lingkungan siswa kelas X Madrasah Aliyah Bahrul Ulum Kabupaten Jember Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013.

The problem studied in this research is how improve learning outcomes biology class X MA BU with learning methods Cooperative Learning Type Think Pair Share (TPS). This study is expected to provide benefits to the author himself, for students, for teachers and for the school.
This study was conducted in three phases, namely the preliminary study phase, the first cycle and second cycle. Research subjects class X Islamic Senior High School Sources Kejayan Mayang Jember. Data collection at the preliminary study stage test techniques. Test techniques such as daily tests of environmental pollution.
Results of this study showed an increase in learning outcomes biology sub subject of environmental pollution by using learning methods Cooperative Learning Type Think Pair Share (TPS), proved the value of the average grade on the 67.6 preliminary study and then increased to 78.4 in the first cycle, and the second cycle average grade of 91.9. Having used learning methods Cooperative Learning Type Think Pair Share (TPS) behavior changes significantly. Students who previously lazy learning, learning is less active in the presence of learning methods Cooperative Learning Type Think Pair Share (TPS) students into the spirit of the following study, active, creative, and have the initiative to improve its ability.
That way it can be concluded that the application of cooperative learning type Think Pair Share learning can improve learning outcomes sub-subject biological pollution class X Islamic Senior High School Jember Academic Year 2012/2013.
