Stroke merupakan salah satu penyakit yang dapat menimbulkan kecemasan, perasaan cemas membuat seseorang mengalami motivasi sembuh rendah, sehingga motivasi sembuh yang ada di dalam dirinya. Salah satu terapi non-farmakologi agar motivasi sembuh dapat meningkat bisa dilakukan dengan komunikasi terapeutik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah mengidentifikasi pengaruh komunikasi terapeutik terhadap motivasi sembuh klien penyakit stroke di Ruang Teratai RSU. Dr. Koesnadi Bondowoso. Desain penelitian yang digunakan ialah Postest With Control Group Design. Jumlah populasi 36 klien dan sampel pada penelitian ini mengambil sejumlah responden pada kurun waktu tertentu dari populasi yaitu 36 responden dengan menggunakan teknik kuota sampling. Hasil uji statistik menggunakan Mann Whitney dengan α=0,05 didapatkan nilai p value 0,001, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh komunikasi terapeutik terhadap motivasi sembuh klien penyakit stroke di Ruang Teratai RSU Dr. H. Koesnadi Bondowoso. Penelitian ini direkomendasikan kepada perawat untuk dapat menerapkan komunikasi terapeutik dengan baik pada klien penyakit stroke agar motivasi sembuh klien dapat meningkat

Stroke is one of diseases which could create an anxiety. Anxiety could make someone demotivated to be recovered from his illness. One of non pharmacological therapies to increase their motivation is therapeutic communication. The purpose of this research is to identify the effects of therapeutic communication towards motivation recovery of patients suffering from stroke in lotus room of Dr. H. Koesnadi General Hospital of Bondowoso. The research design used is a postest with control group design. The total of population in this research is 36 clients and the samples were taken from the respondents during a certain circumstances of time covering 36 respondents by using quota sampling technique. The result of statistical examination using Mann Whitney with α=0.05 acquired p value 0.001 so that it can be concluded that there is an effect between therapeutic communication towards motivation recovery of patients suffering from stroke in lotus room of Dr. H. Koesnadi General Hospital of Bondowoso.From this research, it is recommended for the nurses to be able to have a good communication with patients suffering from stroke so that they become more motivated to recover.
