Air tanah merupakan sumber daya alam yang sangat penting. Air tanah sendiri adalah semua air yang terdapat pada lapisan akuifer dibawah permukaan tanah. Air tanah adalah sejumlah air di bawah permukaan bumi yang dapat dikumpulkan dengan sumur-sumur, terowongan atau sistem drainase atau dengan pemompaan. Pada dasarnya sifat permukaan bumi selalu berubah-ubah. salah satu contohnya adalah naik turunya permukaan muka air tanah atau biasa disebut fluktuasi muka air tanah Sumur gali adalah salah satu jenis sumur yang umum digunakan oleh masyarakat di Indonesia. sumur gali yang dibahas adalah sumur yang dibuat dengan cara menggali tanah hingga mencapai sumber air, dan membatasi galian tersebut dengan menggunakan beton agar tanah di sekitar sumur tidak longsor dan menutupi sumur. Sumur gali yang berada di kecmatan Jatigede dipengaruhi oleh genangan bendung Jatigede yang dimulai dari tahun 2015 hingga sekarang. Penggenangan tersebut berpengaruh terhadap bebrapa aspek pada sumur warga. Ada beberapa dampak yang dihasilkan oleh penggenangan bendung Jatigede, satu diantaranya adalah membuat 8 sumur mengalami kekeringan dan 15 sumur lainnya mengalami fluktuasi permukaan muka air tanah. Dampak lain yang disebabkan oleh penggenangan bendung Jatigede adalah debit air sumur. Nilai debit sumur yang berbeda-beda tersebut ditentukan oleh tinggi permukaan muka air tanah. Soil Water is the most important natural source. Soil water itself contains all of the water in the aquifer layer beneath the surface layer. Soil water is an amount of water that lays beneath the surface layer that can be gathered by building wells, tunnels, drainage system, or with water pump. Basicly the characteristic of the earth surface is always changing. One of the example of fluctuations that caused by earth surface is the fluctuations of the surface water level. Dug well is one of the many examples of many types of wells that usually used by common people in Indonesia. The dug well that being discussed is a dug well that made by digging the surface until the source of the water is found, then make a barrier around the digsite with concrete to prevent landslide. Dug wells that appeared near the Jatigede districts is affected by the inundation on Jatigedes dam which starts from 2015 until now. The inundation affects some aspects of the well itself. There are some effects that caused by the inundation of Jatigede dam, one of htem is making 8 of the local wells in Jatigede district drought and other 15 local wells are having a variety of fluctuations on the surface water level. The other effect that caused by the inundation of Jatigede dam is the value of water discharge on every well in Jatigede district.
