Sistem pengendalian level air merupakan sistem yang penting dalam dunia industri. Sistem pengendalian level air umumnya diterapkan pada industri pengolahan air/cairan seperti industri produk ready to drink (RTD), industri pengolahan air minum, dan bahkan industri minyak & gas. Pada tugas akhir ini dikembangkan sistem pengendali level dengan sistem kendali terdistribusi/Distributed Control System (DCS) menggunakan dua buah Local Contol Unit (LCU) dan sebuah Master Terminal Unit (MTU) berstandar industri serta dilengkapi dengan Human Machine Interface (HMI). Pengendalian pada MTU mengacu pada Algoritma master control untuk menentukan nilai setpoin yang akan diberikan pada setiap LCU. LCU berfungsi untuk memasukkan parameter PID sehingga mampu mengendalikan motorize valve dan flow meter. Terdapat dua buah motorize valve dan flow meter serta sensor level air. Level air dikendalikan dengan mengatur bukaan dan tutupan motorize valve sehingga flow in dan flow out akan mempengaruhi level air. Nilai parameter untuk LCU 1 (Flow in) ialah Kp = 8, Ti = 8 dan Td=0.46. Karakteristik respon LCU 1 yaitu memiliki nilai Settling time=2,91 detik, Rise time=2,76 detik dan Overshoot=1,34%, untuk LCU 2 (Flow out) ialah Kp = 18 , Ti = 2.4, dan Td = 0.6. Karakteristik respon LCU 2 yaitu memiliki nilai Settling time=4,13 detik, Rise time=2,82 detik dan Overshoot=13,13%. Seluruh data pada plant disimpan pada database. Water level control system is an important system in industry. It is commonly applied to liquid/water treatment industries such as ready to drink product industry (RTD, drinking water treatment industry, and even oil & gas industry. In this final project, there will be a DCS system with a water level plant developed using two Local Control Unit (LCU), an industry standard Master Terminal Unit (MTU) and equipped with Human Machine Interface (HMI). MTU control based on master control algorithm with a linear equation for deciding value of setpoin in Local Control Unit. LCU used to enter PID parameters to control motorize valve and flow meter. The water level is controlled by adjusting the opening and closing cover of the motorize valve so the flow in and the flow out can be influence the water level. Paramaters value for LCU 1 (Flow In) are Kp = 8, Ti = 8, and Td = 0.46, the characteristics response of LCU 1 are Settling time=2,91 seconds, Rise time=2,76 seconds and Overshoot=1,34% for LCU 2 (Flow Out) are Kp = 18 , Ti = 2.4, and Td = 0.6. The characteristics response of LCU 2 are Settling time=4,13 seconds, Rise time=2,82 seconds and Overshoot=13,13% All data on plant are stored in database.
