Jalan Gunung Batu dan jalan Cimindi merupakan jalan umum yang memiliki fungsi jalan yaitu kolektor sekunder dan kolektor primer yang sering dilintasi kendaraan dengan muatan sumbu kurang dari 10 ton. Berdasarkan keterangan dari Satlantas Kota Cimahi, kecelakaan yang terjadi di simpang Cimindi – Gunung Batu tergolong tinggi. Adanya penilaian geometrik diharapkan dapat mengurangi angka kecelakaan serta memperbaiki kondisi geometrik jalan tersebut. Data primer didapatkan melalui survei jarak pandang, lebar bahu, lebar jalur, radius tikungan, alinemen horizontal, alinemen vertikal dan volume lalu lintas. Sedangkan data sekunder berupa data kecelakaan lalu lintas Kota Cimahi. Setelah dilakukan pengambilan data, selanjutnya dilakukan penilaian geometrik, apabila jalan tersebut memenuhi standar Tata Cara Perencanaan Geometrik Antar Kota Bina Marga 1997, Perencanaan Geometrik Persimpangan Sebidang dan Permen PU-19-2011, lalu keterkaitannya dengan potensi adanya kecelakaan. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian didapatkan bahwa potensi kecelakaan disebabkan oleh alinemen horizontal, alinemen vertikal, jarak pandang dan kecepatan rata-rata. Sehingga perbaikan geometrik simpang perlu dilakukan agar jalan lebih berkeselamatan.

Gunung Batu and Cimindi streets are public roads that have road functions, namely secondary collectors and primary collectors which are often crossed by vehicles with axle loads less than 10 tons. Based on information from the Cimahi Police Station, the accident that occurred at the Cimindi - Gunung Batu intersection was classified as high. The existence of a geometric assessment is expected to reduce the number of accidents and improve the geometric condition of the road. The primary data were obtained through surveying visibility, shoulder width, lane width, bend radius, horizontal alignment, vertical alignment and traffic volume. Meanwhile, secondary data is in the form of traffic accident data in Cimahi City. After data collection is carried out, a geometric assessment is then carried out, if the road meets the standards of the 1997 Bina Marga Inter-City Geometric Planning Procedure, Geometric Planning of Level Intersections and Permen PU19-2011, then the relationship with the potential for accidents. Based on the results of the assessment, it is found that the potential for accidents is caused by horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, visibility and average speed. So that the intersection geometric improvement needs to be done so that the road is more safe.
