Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas siswa melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make A Match pada sub pokok bahasan persegi dan persegi panjang, dan meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make A Match pada sub pokok bahasan persegi dan persegi panjang. Make A Match merupakan salah satu model pembelajaran kooperatif yang dalam pelaksanaan pembelajarannya siswa bekerja dalam kelompok-kelompok kecil dan menggunakan media kartu yang berisi soal dan jawaban. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP Negeri 2 Sukowono Jember. Subjek penelitiannya adalah siswa kelas VII A. Penelitian ini menggunakanpendekatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil alasisis data aktivitas siswa pada siklus I dan siklus II mengalami peningkatan sebesar 11,99%. Persentase terhadap aktivitas siswa yaitu pada siklus I persentase sebesar 71,76% dan persentase pada siklus II sebesar 83,75%. Sedangkan untuk hasil belajar siswa silihat dari ketuntasan klasikal pada siklus I persentase sebesar71,42%. Untuk hasil belajar siswa pada siklus II besarnya persentase mencapai 82,14%. Dilihat dari persentase persentase siklus I dan siklus II mengalami peningkatan sebesar 10,72%. Kesimpulan dari hasil analisis data dan pembahasan adalah aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make A Match di kelas VII A semester 2 SMP Negeri 2 Sukowono Jember pada sub pokok bahasan persegi dan persegi panjang Tahun Pelajaran 2015/2016 meningkat.

The study which was conducted by the reasearcher is based on the assessment about learning activities and studentsÂ’ learning result which is still low since it was teacher-centered. Therefore, a cooperative learning model on type of Make a Match is implemented to improve the learning activities and studentsÂ’ learning result. This study aimed at improving studentsÂ’ activities through cooperative learning model on the type of Make a Match which discussess about the square and rectangle as the evenÂ’s semester core materials. In addition, this study aimed to improve studentsÂ’ learning result through activities through cooperative learning model on the type of Make a Match which discussess about the Square and Rectangle as the evenÂ’s semester core materials. Make a Match is one of cooperative learning modelÂ’s types which lets the students work in small groups and use cards as media which load exercises items and the answers. The study was conducted in SMP Negeri 2 Sukowono, Jember. The subject of the study was the A seventh graders. The method uses in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The data collection was done by using a test, observation, interview, and documentation.Based on the analysis results, the data on studentsÂ’ activities on cycle I and II has increased as big as 11.9%. The percentage of the increased studentsÂ’ activities is 71.76% in cycle I and 83.75% in cylce II. On the other hand, the percentage of studentsÂ’ learning results concerning on the classical passing grade in cycle I was 71.42%, whilst in cycle II the percentage levelled up to 82.14%. In regards to the elevated percentages, the difference between cycle I and II was as big as 10.72%. This can be concluded that based on the result of data analysis and discussion, studentsÂ’ activities and learning results in grade VII A SMP Negeri 2 Sukowono can be increased through implementing cooperative learning model on the type of Make a Match which discussess about the square and rectangle as the evenÂ’s semester core materials.
