Saxophone merupakan alat musik jenis aerophone dan termasuk pada golongan alat musik tiup kayu atau woodwind instruments. Alat musik tersebut termasuk kedalam alat musik tiup barat ( Eropa ) yang dapat menghasilkan suara yang cukup unik. Jenis saxophone sangat beragam, sehingga hasil suara yang dihasilkan oleh tiap jenis saxophone dapat berbeda Ãâ beda. Dalam memainkan alat musik tersebut terdapat kompleksitas penggunaan yang cukup sulit, sehingga menyulitkan para pengguna dalam mempelajari alat musik tersebut. Kesulitan tersebut umumnya dialami oleh para pemula. Namun hal tersebut tidak menurunkan antusiasme masyarakat terhadap alat musik tiup tersebut. Hal tersebut menjadikan peluang bagi Yamaha Music School untuk mendirikan kelas musik khususnya saxophone. Yamaha Music School menyediakan beberapa fasilitas diantaranya Buku. Buku yang disediakan oleh Yamaha Music School umumnya digunakan untuk mengingat materi yang telah diajarkan. Buku tersebut digunakan untuk mendukung murid dalam proses pembelajaran di Yamaha Music School. Namun realitasnya desain serta konten buku tersebut tidak menarik dan lengkap, sehingga dalam hal ini perancangan ulang desain buku tersebut sangatlah diperlukan.

Saxophone is a type of aerophone musical instrument and included in the class of woodwind instruments or woodwind instruments. The instrument is included in a Western (European) wind instrument which can produce quite unique sounds. Types of saxophone are very diverse, so the results of sound produced by each type of saxophone can vary - different. In playing the instrument there is a complexity of use is quite difficult, making it difficult for users in learning the instrument. Such difficulties are generally experienced by beginners. But it does not reduce the enthusiasm of the community to the wind instrument. It makes an opportunity for Yamaha Music School to establish a music class especially saxophone. Yamaha Music School provides several facilities including Books. Books provided by Yamaha Music School are generally used to remember the material that has been taught. The book is used to support students in the learning process at Yamaha Music School. But the reality of the design as well as the content of the book is not interesting and exhaustive, so in this case the redesign of the book design is very necessary.
