Gedung New Majestic merupakan salah satu bangunan yang bersejarah di kawasan cagar budaya Jalan Braga, Kota Bandung. Semenjak didirikannya Gedung Majestic pada tahun 1925 oleh Prof. C.P Wolff Schoemaker, perkembangan bioskop pada saat itu berkembang sangat pesat. Bioskop Majestic ini juga merupakan salah satu saksi sejarah perfilman Indonesia dimana film pertama yang dibuat di Indonesia berjudul Loetoeng Kasaroeng di putar. Gedung New Majestic ini memiliki gaya arsitektur Art Deco ornamental, yaitu perpaduan gaya arsitektur Eropa dengan ornamen lokal. Namun Hal tersebut sudah mulai dilupakan oleh generasi muda khususnya di kota Bandung. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan sebuah media yang tepat untuk memberikan informasi tentang Sejarah Gedung New Majestic.Film dokumenter merupakan salah satu media yang tepat untuk menyampaikan informasi tentang sejarah Gedung New Majestic, diawali dari berdirinya gedung, arsitektur yang merancangnya, kemudian menjelaskan tentang perkembangannya dari masa-kemasa. Media film dokumenter juga sangat tepat digunakan karena Gedung New Majestic merupakan salah satu bioskop yang merupakan bagian dari sejarah perfilman Indonesia. Film dokumenter ini diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi untuk membuat remaja di kota Bandung lebih mengetahui sejarah dan identitas kotanya, terutama sejarah mengenai Gedung New Majestic.

New Majestic building is one of the historic buildings in the heritage area of Braga Street, Bandung. Since the establishment of the Majestic Building in 1925 by Prof. c. p. Wolff Schoemaker, the development of the bioscoop at that time was growing very rapidly. Majestic bioscoop is also one of the witnesses of the bioscoop history of Indonesia where the first film made in Indonesia entitled Loetoeng Kasaroeng has been played. The New Majestic building has ornamental Art Deco architectural style, which is a fusion of European architectural style with local ornaments. But it has begun to be forgotten by the younger generation especially in Bandung. Therefore it needs a proper media to provide information about the history of the building of the New Majestic.The documentary film is one of the proper media to convey information about the building of new majestic, started with the establishment of the building, architect who designed it, then explain its progress from the time to time. The documentary film also the best media to explains about the story of the new majestic building, because the New Majestic building is one of bioscoop that has part of the history of movie making in Indonesia. Documentary film is expected to be the solution to get the teenagers in Bandung to be more aware about the history and the identity of theirs city especially the history of New Majestic building.
