Selama ini Proses pengelolaan Beasiswa pada salah satu instansi pemerintah kota Bandung yang tepatnya pada Bidang PSMAK di lingkungan Dinas Pendidikan kota Bandung masih menggunakan cara atau pengelolaan yang manual. Dalam proses tersebut, setiap sekolah yang akan mengajukan quota beasiswa harus datang langsung menyerahkan berkas-berkas yang diminta sebagai persyaratannya. Dan itu pun pihak sekolah belum tentu pengajuan quotanya itu langsung diterima pada hari itu juga. Untuk menunggu kepastiannya pihak sekolah harus menunggu beberapa hari lagi karena pihak Bidang PSMAK harus mengumpulkan dan mengentri data pengajuan quota dari seluruh sekolah. Barulah setelah pihak Bidang PSMAK selesai merekap data quota dari seluruh sekolah, maka langsung diumumkan lagi via telepon. Dan pihak sekolah harus datang lagi ke kantor Bidang PSMAK untuk mengambil quota dan melengkapi persyaratan yang dibutuhkan. Secara umum , proses pengelolaan beasiswa yang sudah dilaksanakan tersebut kurang efektif karena pihak sekolah harus bulak-balik ke Kantor Bidang PSMAK dan pihak adminpun kesulitan dalam mengelola quota beasiswa tersebut. Untuk itulah dibutuhkan suatu sistem pendukung untuk mempermudah dan memperlancar proses pengelolaan tersebut. Dalam tugas akhir ini akan didesain suatu sistem informasi pengelolaan beasiswa berbasis web online yang mampu menefisienkan waktu dan mempercepat proses pengeloaaan beasiswa.
