Keberadaan komputer dalam mendukung kegiatan operasional perusahaan telah meningkatkan efisiensi tenaga dan waktu. Salah satu contoh penerapan yang paling sering dijumpai dalam kehidupan sehari-hari adalah penerapan program komputer dalam mengatur perparkiran di mal, kampus, kantor dan hotel. Akhir-akhir ini, hampir seluruh kantor, kampus, mal dan hotel menggunakan penerapan program komputer untuk mengatur proses perparkiran. Universitas Komputer Indonesia adalah salah satu kampus yang masih menggunakan sistem manual dalam proses pengelolaan jasa parkir, tentunya hal ini menjadi kendala besar Universitas Komputer Indonesia dalam menghadapi era teknologi informasi sekarang ini. Untuk itu diperlukan sebuah sistem aplikasi komputer dalam mengatasi kendala-kedala tersebut. Program komputer tersebut sering disebut sebagai Sistem Informasi Parkir. Untuk mendukung perubahan sistem ini, maka diperlukan perancangan sistem dengan metode prototype. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode penelitian dengan cara observasi dan wawancara sedangkan alat yang digunakan untuk merancangan sistem tersebut berupa flowmap (bagan alur dokumen), konteks diagram, Data Flow Diagram (DFD), Spesifikasi Proses, ER-Diagram (ERD), Skema database dan Perancangan desain antar muka. Alat-alat yang akan digunakan untuk mengimplementasikan sistem adalah Java (Netbeans) dan aplikasi database MySQL. Skripsi ini menjelaskan tentang proses perancangan sistem informasi perparkiran di Universitas Komputer Indonesia. Dari analisis yang berjalan serta tahapan perancangan yang dilalui dapat disimpulkan bahwa sistem yang baru dapat memenuhi segala kebutuhan pengguna.
