Brine Cooling yaitu sistem refrigerasi yang membutuhkan refrigerant primer dan refrigerant sekunder sebagai fluida kerja. Pada umumnya pengontrolan temperatur pada brine cooling saat ini harus menggunakan thermostat. Thermostat hanya mengatur operasi dari kompresor sedangkan operasi dari pompa masih dikontrol secara manual. Banyak proses kontrol di industri membutuhkan monitoring dan pengontrolan temperatur menggunakan Programmble Logic Controller(PLC). Pada tugas akhir ini telah dilakukan perancangan sistem kontrol temperatur pada brine cooling system berbasis PLC Yokogawa FA-M3. Product sampling yang digunakan yaitu es lilin. Nilai batas bawah yaitu -14⁰C dan nilai batas atas -13⁰C. Sedangkan control set point yaitu -13,5⁰C. Sensor yang digunakan yaitu termokopel tipe K. Aktuator yang digunakan yaitu kompresor 220 VAC 1/2 pk dan pompa 220 VAC 38W. Metode pengontrolan yaitu on-off. Dari hasil pengujian yaitu kompresor mati saat process value mencapai -14⁰C. Jika process value melebihi -13⁰Cmaka kompresor hidup. Pompa hidup selama 150 detik dan pompa mati selama 30 detik. Error rata-rata pembacaan temperatur yaitu 0,777⁰C. Monitoring Online dilakukan pada wide field sedangkan penyimpanan data menggunakan sampling trace. Brine cooling is the refrigeration systems which uses primary refrigerant and secondary refrigerant as a working fluids. Commonly, the temperature control on the brine cooling system must uses the thermostat. Thermostat only regulate the operation of the compressor while the operation of the pump is controlled manually. Many control process in industry need monitoring and controlling of temperature using Programmable Logic Controller(PLC). In this final project has been designing temperature control of brine cooling system based on PLC Yokogawa FA-M3. Product sampling was used es lilin. Lower limit value was -14⁰C and the upper limit value which was adjusted -13⁰C. While the control set point was -13.5⁰C. Sensors was used thermocouple type K. Actuator was used compressor 220 VAC 1/2 hp and pump 220 VAC 38W. Methods of controlling was applied on-off methods. From the results of testing that the compressor off when the process value reaches -14⁰C. If the process value exceeds the -13⁰C so the compressor on. Pump on for 150 seconds and the pump off for 30 seconds. The average error of temperature readings is 0.777⁰C. Online monitoring is done on a wide field of saving data by using sampling trace.
