Push notification merupakan fitur yang tepat dijadikan pilihan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pemberitahuan informasi yang memerlukan penyampaian berita secara tepat waktu, seperti menawarkan promo dan diskon yang sensitif terhadap waktu kepada pengguna. Hal ini dikarenakan push notification bersifat real time dan akan muncul pada device pengguna tanpa harus mengaktifkan aplikasi terlebih dahulu. Fitur ini awalnya hanya dapat diimplementasikan pada platform mobile native application. Teknologi Progressive Web Application dengan fitur push notification untuk aplikasi web, memberikan opsi baru untuk pengiriman informasi langsung kepada pengguna. Penelitian ini mencoba melakukan eksperimen untuk mengetahui durasi waktu penerimaan notification pada Native Android Application (NAA), dan Progressive Web Application (PWA) sejak dikirim. Ekseprimen yang di ujikan berdasarkan jumlah pesan notification dan panjang karakter pesan notification yang bervariasi, dilakukan dengan menghitung waktu ketika data dikirimkan oleh server sampai diterima di aplikasi PWA dan NAA. Hasil eksperimen yang diperoleh notification pada NAA relative lebih cepat dibandingkan PWA. Diketahui bahwa durasi waktu yang diperlukan untuk mengirim notification pada PWA rata-rata adalah 3.65 detik, sedangkan pada NAA adalah 2.10 detik. Selisih durasi pada NAA dan PWA terus mengalami peningkatan sesuai dengan jumlah banyaknya pesan yang dikirimkan dalam satu waktu secara bersamaan. Push notification is the right feature to deliver statement on the right time, such as promoting something or discount. Because this feature is real time and will appear on the user's device without opening certain application first. At first, push notification can be implemented on mobile native application, which is an application that developed on platform mobile. Besides if user experiences application from platform web has a wider range. While, Technology of Progressive web application with push notification feature for web application, provides new option on Sending information for users directly. Therefore, in this study an experiment is conducted to compare the duration received notification between Native Android Application (NAA) and Progressive Web Application (PWA). With intention to fullfil the request from the user to receive information as fast as possible. This experiment based on variation of notification and character length by calculating duration from data sent by server until they showed on PWA and NAA. The result shows that notification time on NAA is faster than PWA. The average time of PWA is 3.65 seconds, while of NAA is 2.10 seconds. The time difference in NAA and PWA increased continuesly as the number of Message sent at one time. Keywords: progressive web application, push notification, native android application.
