Salah satu tujuan dari penerapan arsitektur enterprise adalah menciptakan keselarasan antara bisnis dan teknologi informasi bagi kebutuhan organisasi. Penerapan arsitektur enterprise tidak terlepas dari bagaimana sebuah perguruan tinggi merencanakan dan merancang arsitektur enterprise tersebut. STMIK CIC Cirebon, sebagai salah satu penyelenggara pendidikan tinggi yang dikelola oleh swasta memiliki komitmen yang kuat terhadap pemanfaatan sistem informasi untuk mendukung aktivitas bisnisnya sehingga perlu merencanakan arsitektur enterprise dengan baik. Arsitektur enterprise yang akan dimodelkan pada STMIK CIC Cirebon, meliputi : arsitektur aplikasi, arsitektur data dan arsitektur teknologi. Perencanaan arsitektur enterprise mengacu kepada proses-proses yang sudah ada, sedang dikembangkan serta yang potensial untuk dikembangkan dalam bisnis penyelenggaraan pendidikan tinggi di STMIK CIC Cirebon, sedangkan ruang lingkup pembahasan dibatasi pada bidang Akademik, bidang Administrasi dan Keuangan serta bidang Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) dan Umum. Enterprise Unified Process (EUP) sebagai salah satu metode atau kerangka acuan untuk membangun sebuah arsitektur informasi merupakan sebuah siklus pengembangan Teknologi Informasi (TI) perluasan dari Rational Unified Process (RUP). RUP mendefinisikan sebuah siklus pengembangan perangkat lunak. Sedangkan EUP tidak hanya menangani siklus pengembangan perangkat lunak tetapi mencakup seluruh siklus hidup TI dan menambahkan disiplin enterprise management dengan melakukan cross-system terhadap kebutuhan suatu arsitektur enterprise. Penelitian ini menghasilkan blueprint yang terdiri dari arsitetur bisnis, arsitektur data, arsitektur aplikasi dan arsitektur teknologi yang berbasis reusable strategic. Di samping itu dihasilkan integrasi dari keempat arsitektur tersebut.
