Alat peraga mesin sortir barang berbasis PLC merupakan salah satu media yang dapat digunakan untuk mempelajari cara pembuatan program menggunakan PLC pada sistem otomasi industri.Terdapat 3 buah benda yang digunakan sebagai objek yang akan disortir yaitu aluminium (Alu), plastik berwarna putih (PP), dan plastik berwarna hitam (PH) dengan diameter 40 mm dan tinggi 20 mm. Ketiga macam barang tersebut harus dapat disalurkan sedemikian rupa sehingga masing-masing benda akan menuju tempatnya masing-masing. Mesin sortir barang ini terbagi kedalam 3 sistem utama, yaitu sistem penerima benda, sistem kontrol, dan sistem penyaluran akhir. Sistem penerima benda menggunakan sistem konveyor dan sensosr kapasitif untuk mendeteksi keberadaan benda. Dalam kasus ini, konveyor juga digunakan sebagai sistem penyaluran akhir. Sedangkan sistem kontrol untuk membedakan ketiga benda tersebut diperlukan 2 buah sensor tambahan, yaitu sensor induktif, dan sensor optik yang dibantu dengan sebuah stopper dari silinder pneumatik tipe double acting yang berfungsi untuk menahan benda agar proses kontrol dapat bejalan dengan akurat. Untuk sistem penyaluran akhir digunakan 2 buah silinder pneumatik tipe double acting yang ditempatkan bertumpuk dengan arah pergerakan yang berlawanan dan dihubungkan dengan sebuah pengarah untuk mengarahkan benda menuju ke masing-masing final storage slot. Benda akan meluncur pada slot dengan bantuan tiupan udara dan gravitasi. Diawal benda meluncur pada slot tersebut, benda akan terdeteksi oleh sensor photoelectric dan gerakan ini merupakan gerakan akhir dari siklus. Dengan demikian sensor photoelectric dapat digunakan sebagai pendeteksi gerakan akhir dari proses kontrol untuk memulai siklus yang baru. Alat peraga ini memerlukan 11 input untuk sensor dan 6 output untuk aktuator sehingga diperlukan PLC dengan 20 I/O. Alat peraga telah berfungsi dengan baik sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai simulator mesin sortir yang dapat dikontrol baik secara elektrik maupun menggunakan PLC. Untuk pengontrolan secara elektrik, alat ini dilengkapi dengan modul kontrol elektrik tersendiri. Kata kunci: Alu, PP, PH, Sensor, Aktuator.

Sorting machine simulator for items with using PLC is one medium which can be used to learn how to use PLC programming in industrial automation systems. There are3 pieces ofobjects are used as objects to besorted, namely aluminum(Alu), white plastic(PP), and the black plastic(PH) having a diameter of 40mm and height of 20mm. These three kinds of items should be distributed such that each item will go into their respective places. This item sorting machine is divided into three main systems, namely the object receiver system, control system, and the distribution system. Receiver system objects using conveyor system and capacitive sensors to detect the presence of objects. In this case, the conveyor is also used as the delivery system. While the control system to distinguish the three items is required two additional sensors, namely inductive sensors, and optical sensors which assisted with a stopper using double acting pneumatic cylinder that serves to hold the objects so that the control process could be run accurately. The distribution system uses two pieces of double acting pneumatic cylinder, which placed overlapping and having the opposite direction, and connected with a guide to direct objects towards each final storage slot. Objects will slide into the slot with the help of push air and gravity force. When objects slide in the slot, the object will be detected with a photoelectric sensor and this movement is the movement to fend of the cycle. Thus photoelectric sensor can be used as a detector of the final movement of the control process to start a new cycle. This simulator requires 11 sensor inputs and 6 actuator outputs so it requires PLC with 20I /O. This simulator is functioning properly so that it can be used as a sorting machine simulator which can be controlled either electrically or using a PLC.
