Seiring dengan berkembangnya teknologi,dimana banyak macam bentuk produk yang dapat dibuat dimana tidak hanya pembuatan produk secara konvensional dimana ada salah satu cara membuat produk dengan metoda metalurgi serbuk (powder metallurgy). Teknologi metalurgi serbuk (Powder Metallurgy) telah digunakan untuk membuat produk yang sulit diproses dengan cara pemesinan. Selain itu, berbagai literatur melaporkan keunggulan teknologi powder metallurgy yang terbukti mampu memproduksi suatu produk dengan harga yang relatif rendah dengan kualitas yang lebih baik. Modal utama proses produksi dengan metode ini adalah serbuk logam yang dibuat dengan berbagai metoda. Tugas Akhir ini dikonsentrasikan untuk produksi roda gigi lurus dengan metoda Powder Metallurgy. Proses pembuatan alat ini melalui proses machining, hardening, wire cut, dll. Metoda penggunaan alat ini memiliki tiga tahap produksi yang dilakukan yaitu; pencampuran, kompaksi, dan sintering. Dari alat yang dibuat, diharapkan produk yang dihasilkan dapat memenuhi kualitas standar sehingga produk dapat digunakan dan dapat diproduksi untuk umum.
