Sering terjadinya gangguan pada PLN dalam menyediakan energi listrik bagi industri, maka dibutuhkan power backup yang handal. Salah satu aplikasinya dengan mengontrol AMF (Automatic Main Failure) untuk sistem otomasi dalam proses pemindahan beban daya dari PLN ke Genset (Generator Set) saat PLN failure. Pada tugas akhir ini dilakukan pembuatan simulator Automatic Main Failure yang dikontrol dengan PLC CP1L untuk mempermudah pengontrolan simulator AMF dan HMI Citect sebagai monitoring dan pemberi informasi penting ketika saat terjadi gangguan. Pada proses simulasi menggunakan input analog untuk mengatur tegangan dari generator dan mengatur fuel, serta pengaturan suhu dengan sensor LM35 yang diatur menggunakan mikrokontroller. Hasil rancangan simulator dan program PLC dapat bekerja dengan baik hanya saja komunikasi HMI Citect dengan PLC dan simulator AMF ada delay selama 1 detik. Untuk penelitian selanjutnya HMI dengan PLC harus bisa berkomunikasi dengan baik.

Frequent occurrence of interference with the PLN in providing electricity for industry, it needed a reliable backup power. At this final project of making simulator Automatic Main Failure controlled by PLC CP1L to facilitate control simulator AMF and Citect HMI as monitoring and giving vital information when the event of disruption. In the simulation process using the analog input to set the voltage of the generator and set the fuel, as well as setting LM35 temperature sensor that is set using the microcontroller. Results simulator design and PLC programs can work well only communication Citect HMI with PLC and simulator AMF no delay for 1 second. For further research HMI with PLC should be able to communicate well.
