Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perbedaan return saham Indeks LQ45 sebelum dan sesudah kenaikan harga BBM. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel 45 perusahaan yang telah memenuhi criteria Indeks LQ45 yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI). Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian event study, merupakan studi yang mempelajari reaksi pasar terhadap suatu peristiwa (event) yang informasinya dipublikasikan sebagai suatu pengumuman. Periode pengamatan selama 10 hari yang terbagi atas 5 hari sebelum dan 5 hari sesudah peristiwa. Hasil penelitian secara statistic menunjukkan bahwa return saham yang terjadi dalam 10 hari peristiwa mengalami perubahan. Hasil uji beda rata – rata (paired sample) menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan return saham pada periode sebelum dan sesudah pengumuman kenaikan harga BBM tanggal 21 Juni 2013. Secara rata – rata, return saham pada periode paska pengumuman lebih besar daripada periode sebelum pengumuman.

This research aims to know the stock Index return LQ45 difference before and after the increase in the price of fuel oil. This research using a sample of 45 companies that have meet the criteria LQ45 Index listed on the Indonesia stock exchange (IDX). This type of research is the research event study, a study that examines the market reaction to an event (event) for which information is published as an announcement. The period of observation for 10 days which is divided into 5 days before and 5 days after the event. The results of research in statistics showing that the stock return that occurs within 10 days of events changed. Test results the average difference (paired sample) shows there is a difference between stock return before and after the announcement of the fuel price rise on 21 June 2013. Flat-rate, stock return in the period post announcement period is greater than before the announcement.
