Sistem jaringan di Laboratorium Telekomunikasi belum memiliki fasilitas yang dapat dengan optimal memenuhi permintaan transfer file (baik download maupun upload) antar host secara efektif dan efisien. Salah satu layanan yang dapat memenuhi tuntutan tersebut adalah layanan FTP (File Transfer Protocol). Berdasarkan hal tersebut, pada proyek akhir ini direalisasikan sebuah file server sebagai FTP server dengan menggunakan aplikasi ProFTPd dan MySQL. File server dengan IP address 219.83.55.134 ini dapat diakses melalui aplikasi FTP client ataupun web browser. Terdapat dua group user yang dibagi berdasarkan hak akses, yaitu group dosen dan mahasiswa. Setiap calon user dapat melakukan registrasi melalui web page dengan URL http://219.83.55.134/user. Networking System at TelecommunicationÂ’s Laboratory does not have any facilities which is able to optimally meet the demand for the efficient and effective way of transferring files (either download or upload) between hosts. One of the services that can fulfill that demands is File Transfer ProtocolÂ’s (FTP) services. Accordingly, a file server as a FTP server is realized in this final project by using MySQL and ProFTPd applications. The file Server with IP address 219.83.55.134 is accessible neither via FTP client nor web browser. There are two groups that divided by the permissions, dosen and mahasiswa group.
