Skipsi yang berjudul ÃâRepresentasi Femininitas pada Tokoh Utama pada Lima Cerita Pendek Karya Guy De MaupassantÃâ memperlihatkan bagaimana stereotip femininitas konsep kecantikan mengkontruksi perempuan Perancis sejak terlahir ke dunia pada abad 17, 18 atau 19. Berdasarkan penelitian terdahulu, stereotip femininitas tersebut dikukuhkan oleh masyarakat Perancis sebagai tolok ukur individu dalam bersikap dan berpenampilan. Akan tetapi, isu yang muncul kemudian adalah bagaimana femininitas ini direpresentasikan perempuan dalam kehidupan kesehariannya. Dengan demikian, tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan representasi femininitas konsep kecantikan perempuan Perancis yang menjadi tokoh utama dalam lima cerita pendek Guy de Maupassant tersebut di atas. Untuk menjawab isu tersebut, sebagai landasan pemikiran diterapkan tiga gagasan utama, yakni gagasan stereotip Dyer (1999), nilai femininitas/maskulinatas Reinisch (1987), dan gagasan budaya Perancis Jones (2004). Adapun metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Dengan metode ini, data dideskripsikan dengan cara menghubungkan hal-hal yang berkaitan dalam penelitian. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa setiap individu akan berusaha memenuhi stereotip femininitas konsep kecantikan atas tubuhnya agar dapat diterima oleh masyarakat.

The Skripsi entitled ÃâRepresentation of Femininity in Main Charcters in Five Maupassants Sort StoriesÃâ shows how femininity t have constructed French women since their early birth at 17th, 18 th or 19 th centuries. Based on previous research, the stereotype of femininity was confirmed by the French society as a measure of individuals in attitude and appearance. However, the issue that arises then is how femininity is represented by women in life every day. So, the purpose of this study is to describe the femininity represented by women who become main characters in five Maupassant short stories mentioned above. To answer this issue, as the rationale applied there are three grand theories, that is DyerÃâs stereotype (1999), ReinischÃâs the value of femininity/masculinity (1987) and JonesÃâs French culture (2004). The research used descriptive qualitative method, with this method; the data is described by way of linking related matters in the research. The result of this research is showed each individual will try to follow the stereotype femininity of beauty concept in their body to be accepted by society.
