Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) PUSDIKHUBAD Cimahi merupakan salah satu sekolah menengah kejuruan swasta yang menyiapkan tenaga kerja tingkat menengah yang menguasai Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Teknologi. Salah satu cara untuk mewujudkan semua itu perlu adanya sistem informasi akademik yang baik. Namun pada SMK PUSDIKHUBAD Cimahi, sistem informasi akademiknya masih belum ditunjang dengan fasilitas komputerisasi yang baik dan penyimpanan datanya belum terintegrasi. Hal ini dirasakan kurang efektif karena dapat menyebabkan proses penyampaian informasi membutuhkan waktu yang lama. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan suatu penelitian dengan tujuan untuk memperbaiki sistem informasi akademik pada SMK PUSDIKHUBAD Cimahi dengan sistem informasi akademik yang terkomputerisasi secara efektif dan media penyimpanan datanya terintegrasi. Pembangunan sistem informasi akademik pada SMK PUSDIKHUBAD Cimahi, menggunakan metode prototype dalam pengembangan sistemnya. Sedangkan untuk metode pendekatan sistem metode yang digunakan ialah metode pendekatan terstruktur. Dalam metode pendekatan terstruktur diperlukan suatu alat bantu, alat bantu tersebut ialah Flow Map, Diagram Kontek, Data Flow Diagram, dan Kamus Data. Untuk perangkat lunak yang digunakan dalam pembangunan sistem infomasi akademik pada SMK PUSDIKHUBAD Cimahi adalah Java NetBeans I.D.E 6.9.1 sebagai media pembuatan program aplikasi, dan sebagai media pembuatan basis datanya menggunakan perangkat lunak MYSQL. Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa sistem informasi akademik yang sudah terkomputerisasi secara efektif dengan berbasis client / server. Rancangan ini diharapkan dapat membantu dan mengatasi kelemahan-kelemahan dari sistem yang sedang berjalan.

In the method of structured approach required a tool, the tool is the Flow Map, Diagram of the Contect, Data Flow diagrams and Data Dictionaries. For software that is used in the construction of academic information systems at CMS Java NetBeans PUSDIKHUBAD Cimahi is I.D.E as media production program 6.9.1 applications, and as a media manufacture of base data using the MYSQL software. The results of this research in the form of academic information system that is already computerized effectively with client/server-based. The draft is expected to be able to help and overcome the weaknesses of the system that is running.
