Sistem informasi penerimaan siswa baru berbasis web sudah diterapkan oleh beberapa Sekolah di Indonesia. Namun permasalahannya adalah orang tua calon siswa masih banyak yang merasa kesulitan dengan sistem tersebut karena tidak semua orang tua calon siswa mempunyai komputer yang terhubung atau terkoneksi dengan jaringan internet, oleh karena itu perlu diterapkannya sistem berbasis WAP agar orang tua calon siswa dapat dengan mudah mendaftarkan anaknya melalui ponsel atau handphone yang dimilikinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Metode pengembangan sistem, yaitu eksperimen untuk merancang sistem informasi penerimaaan siswa baru berbasis WAP yang dapat diakses melalui handphone. Sistem informasi penerimaan siswa baru ini dibangun dengan bahasa pemrograman PHP, tag HTML, dan tag WML, serta memanfaatkan database MySQL sebagai database server. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sistem informasi penerimaan siswa baru berbasis WAP sudah memiliki kemampuan memberikan kemudahan bagi orang tua calon siswa baru untuk memperoleh semua informasi tentang penerimaan siswa baru dan melakukan proses pendaftaran online. Meskipun orang tua calon siswa baru yang tidak mempunyai komputer yang terhubung atau terkoneksi dengan jaringan internet, tetapi masih tetap bisa mendapatkan kemudahan mengakses sistem ini dengan menggunakan handphone yang dilengkapi dengan fasilitas WAP.

Acceptance of new student information system-based web is applied by some schools in Indonesia. But the problem is the parents of prospective students are still many who find difficulty with the system because not all parents of prospective students to have computers that are connected or network connected to the internet, therefore it is necessary to the implementation of WAP-based system so that parents of prospective students can easily enroll their children via phone or cell phone has. The research method used in this study is the method of system development, the design of experiments for the acceptance of new student information system based on WAP that can be accessed via mobile phones. Acceptance of new student information system is built with PHP programming language, HTML tags, and tags WML, as well as utilizing MySQL database as the database server. The results of this study is a new student information system based on WAP revenues already have the ability to provide facilities for new parents of prospective students to obtain all the information about the new admissions and enrollment process online. Although the new parents of prospective students who do not have a computer that is connected or network connected to the internet, but can still have easy access to the system by using a cell phone equipped with WAP facilities.
