Dalam konteks sebuah perusahaan/toko, akhir-akhir ini telah banyak diperkenalkan sistem informasi berbasis teknologi, salah satu contohnya adalah Sistem Informasi berbasis android. Android adalah sistem operasi yang berbasis Linux untuk telepon seluler seperti telepon pintar (smartphone) dan computer tablet. Dalam hal ini, CV. Ricky Jaya dijadikan tempat penelitian, karena pada saat ini ada suatu permasalahan proses pengolahan data pemesanan barang masih bersifat manual, yaitu masih menggunakan pencatatan buku untuk menyimpan data, Hal ini dapat dikatakan kurang efektif dan efisien. Dikarenakan banyaknya jumlah barang yang dijual dan tingkat keramaian pembeli dapat mengakibatkan penjual mengalami kesulitan untuk mengelola dan menghitung transaksi penjualan secara cepat, tepat, dan efisien., oleh karena itu dibutuhkan suatu aplikasi agar dapat mengakses informasi-informasi tersebut secara cepat dan praktis. Tujuan dari aplikasi ini adalah untuk mempermudah bagian penjualan dalam melakukan proses penjualan barang dengan menggunakan telepon seluler smartphone komputer tablet berbasis android. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penyelesaian aplikasi ini adalah metode Action Research dan metode waterfall. Aplikasi ini menggunakan Android sebagai sistem operasinya, Javascript dan PHP sebagai bahasa pemrogramannnya, MySQL sebagai database-nya. Penelitian tersebut menghasilkan sebuah aplikasi pemesanan barang yang dapat berjalan dalam sistem operasi android yang dapat melakukan proses pemesanan barang di CV. Ricky Jaya. Aplikasi tersebut telah diuji pada beberapa merek mobile phone berbasis android mulai versi 2.2 keatas dan dapat berjalan dengan sempurna serta memberikan user interface dan user friendly.
