Arus globalisasi kian menderas di semua bidang, tak terkecuali dalam bidang pendidikan. Sejalan dengan itu, perguruan tinggi Ãâ perguruan tinggi di Indonesia pun berlomba untuk mendaparkan predikat World Class University (WCU). Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) merupakan salah satu universitas yang ingin meraih predikat tersebut. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan adalah mengadakan kerja sama dengan Perguruan Tinggi di luar negeri dalam bentuk pertukaran pelajar, pertukaran dosen, pertukaran sistem pembelajaran, atau yang baru-baru ini mulai banyak dilakukan yaitu adanya program double degree. Namun, saat ini belum adanya sistem informasi yang dapat memberikan informasi mengenai pendidikan luar negeri Universitas Komputer Indonesia berikut prosedur untuk mengikuti seleksinya. Proses pendaftaran seleksi pun belum dapat dilakukan secara online. Selain itu, sampai saat ini belum adanya sistem yang dapat membantu tim penyeleksi dalam membuat keputusan terkait seleksi calon mahasiswa pendidikan luar negeri. Proses pembuatan Sistem Informasi Seleksi Calon Mahasiswa Pendidikan Luar Negeri ini menggunakan metode pendekatan berorientasi objek dengan alat bantu diagram UML (Unified Modelling Language). Kemudian, metode pengembangan sistem yang digunakan yaitu prototyping. Sistem Informasi Seleksi Calon Mahasiswa Pendidikan Luar Negeri ini diharapkan dapat membantu menyediakan informasi mengenai pendidikan luar negeri UNIKOM berikut prosedur seleksinya, informasi proses seleksi yang sedang berlangsung pada periode tertentu, serta diharapkan dapat membantu tim penyeleksi dalam menentukan mahasiswa yang layak untuk diberangkatkan ke luar negeri.

Globalization increases in all areas, invariably in the field of education. In accordance to that, universities in Indonesia compete to get World Class University (WCU) title. Indonesia Computer University (UNIKOM) is one of the universities that want to get that title. One of the efforts is establishing cooperation with foreign universities such as student exchange, faculty exchange, learning system exchange, or something that recently started to be undertaken, namely double degree program. However, this time there is no information system that can provide information about foreign education of UNIKOM following with the selection procedure. And then, the registration process of selection has not been done online. Moreover, until now there is no system that can help the selector team to make decisions related to selection of student candidate for foreign education. In the process of building Information System of Student Candidate Selection for Foreign Education is using an object-oriented approach with the UML diagrams (Unified Modeling Language) as tools. Then, the system development method is prototyping. Information System of Student Candidate Selection for Foreign Education is expected to help provide information about the UNIKOM foreign education with the following procedure of the selection, the on going information about selection process at a certain period, and is expected to help the selector team in determining the student who is eligible to be dispatched to other country.
