Akademi Teknik Kupang adalah salah satu perguruan tinggi swasta di Nusa Tenggara Timur yang saat ini memiliki 3 jurusan yaitu Teknik Sipil (TS), Teknik Elektro(TE) dan Teknik Komputer & Jaringan (TKJ). Umumnya calon mahasiswa baru pada Akademi Teknik Kupang kebingungan dalam memilih jurusan teknik yang sesuai dengannya, sehingga dalam pilihan jurusan sering kali mengikuti pilihan teman terdekat atau pilihan orang tua mereka. Pemilihan jurusan yang kurang tepat akan berakibat bagi masa depan calon mahasiswa baru tersebut. Untuk itu seorang calon mahasiswa baru harus mengetahui kemampuan akademik dan bakatnya, dengan sistem pendukung keputusan penentuan jurusan diharapkan dapat membantu calon mahasiswa baru untuk mengetahui potensi terbesar pilihan jurusan yang sesuai dengan kemampuan akademik dan bakat yang dimilikinya. Sistem Pendukung Keputusan ini menggunakan metode Naïve Bayes untuk mengetahui mana calon mahasiswa baru yang berpotensial masuk ke jurusan teknik dan menggunakan model Analytic Hierarchy Process untuk mengetahui pilihan jurusan yang tepat. Metode Naïve Bayes mengacu pada rule/ aturan penerimaan calon mahasiswa baru, yang akan diperoleh rumus probabilitas ya dan rumus probabilitas tidak, untuk dapat digunakan pada perhitungan dengan sampel data. Model AHP mengacu pada nilai mata pelajaran yang diuji atau dites pada tes penerimaan calon mahasiswa baru.Dari hasil perhitungan dengan Naïve Bayes untuk sampel data mahasiswa tahun ajaran 2009-2010, diperoleh 10 mahasiswa tidak masuk jurusan teknik atau tidak berpotensial secara akademik untuk masuk jurusan teknik. Sedangkan mahasiswa lainnya yang masuk jurusan teknik dilakukan perhitungan dengan Model AHP, dan diperoleh 17 mahasiswa pilihan jurusannya tidak tepat. Sedangkan mahasiswa lainnya telah memilih jurusan yang tepat sesuai dengan kemampuan akademiknya. Pada akhirnya Sistem Pendukung Keputusan ini dapat digunakan untuk mengetahui mana calon mahasiswa baru yang berpotensi dan yang tidak berpotensial dan juga dapat memberikan rekomendasi pemilihan jurusan yang tepat sesuai dengan kemampuan akademik calon mahasiswa baru.

Kupang Academy of Engineering (Akademi Teknik Kupang) is the one of private college in East Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Timur), which currently has three major classes that are Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer & Network Engineering. Generally, new college students at the Kupang Academy of Engineering confusion in choosing which one engineering major that appropriate, so the choice of engineering major often follow their friend’s choice or their parent’s choice. The selection majors that are less precise, will affect to the future of the prospective new college students.The prospective new college students should know their academic ability and their talents. With a Decision Support System for the determination of majors is expected to help the prospective new college students to find out the greatest potential for appropriate choice majors with their academic ability and their talent. The Decision Support System are uses Naïve Bayes method to find out where the prospective new college students that potentially entered to engineering majors, and uses (AHP) Analytic Hierarchy Process model to find out the right choice majors.Calculation with Naïve Bayes for data sampel college students 2009-2010 academic year, found 10 college students cannot enter to engineering majors or not potential to enter engineering majors. Whereas other college students are enter to engineering majors calculation with AHP Model, found 17 college students are not correctly choose the majors. And the other college students are correctly choose the majors. Finally, Decision Support System can use to find out where the prospective new college students that potentially entered to engineering majors and where are not potential and also can provide recommendations the right choice majors for prospective new college students.
