Smart tracking adalah teknologi yang dapat mengikuti jejak suatu objek dengan memanfaatkan Global Positioning System (GPS). Dalam perancangan teknologi smart tracking untuk mengetahui dan mengirim nilai posisi jarak (longitude & latitude) dibutuhkan modul GPS dan modul Global System for Mobile (GSM), accelerometer berfungsi sebagai sensor perubahan pergerakan percepatan benda dan mikrokontroler sebagai pengolahan data. Untuk mengetahui nilai posisi jarak dibutuhkan sensor accelerometer untuk mengaktifkan modul GPS dan modul GSM, nilai posisi jarak ini akan ditampilkan pada interface smartphone berupa alamat keberadaan sepeda motor, kapolsek terdekat, dan pengiriman pesan informasi kepolisian. Hasil pengujian posisi jarak sepeda motor dalam beberapa tempat yang berbeda menunjukan bahwa GPS dapat menghasilkan data yang akurat berupa informasi nama jalan, nomor rumah, provinsi, negara dan kode pos. Dan pencarian nilai posisi jarak pada sepeda motor dalam 15 kali percobaan memiliki tingkat keberhasilan sebesar 73.333%.

Smart tracking is a technology that can follow in the footsteps of an object by using Global Positioning System (GPS). In the design of smart tracking technology to identify and send the value of the position of the distance (longitude and latitude) needed a GPS and Global System for Mobile (GSM) module, accelerometer sensor serves as the acceleration of change in the movement of objects and the microcontroller as data processing. To determine the value of the position required distance accelerometer sensor to activate the GPS and GSM module, the value of this distance position will be displayed on the Smartphone interface in the form of address where the motorcycle, the nearest police chief, and messaging information police. The test results position within the motorcycle in a few different places shows that GPS can produce accurate data contains information on street name, house number, province, country and postal code. And the search for the value of the position of the distance on a motorcycle in 15 trials had a success rate of 73 333%.
