The Baduy society is a Sundanese ethnic who is really fervent maintain their tradition. Their firmness in maintain tradition until now probably is because their life is very oriented to the Sunda–Wiwitan, their religion system. The tradition of Baduy persisted for a long time a go and relatively don’t have any changes in their social and economic life, eventhough the society around Kanekes Village (Baduy) has many changes in their culture. Environmental change occur in outside Baduy which is caused by natural resource, social – culture, religion, and technology doesn’t have any influences to the Baduy tradition. According to their pattern and life arrangement, the Baduy society is divided by two characteristics, Baduy Dalam and Baduy Luar. Baduy Dalam have several characteristics; there are original inhabitants who is really bound to the tradition which is determine long time a go. The rules aren’t influence by outside culture and inheritance from ancestors and bound to them. Baduy Luar which is become our study were a part from Suku Baduy. Their life and culture also bound to the rules, custom and traditions which is similar with Baduy Dalam. Generally, Regency of Lebak has potential culture and natural setting in Baduy area and could be an asset for tourism business development. In Regional Rules Regency of Lebak No. 32/2001 about Protection of The Baduy Society Rights, Baduy region has 5.010 hectare and have full blast of right to manage and make use of it. But in development region, this condition completely not released from government intervension of Regency of Lebak. People outside Suku Baduy , even in domestic and abroad had been interested to know the characteristics of Baduy’s culture and become prominent motivation in their tourism activity. In the other side, the natural setting of Baduy area which is still pure and determine as nature preserve and tour culture sphere form the background of the idea development area through the optimalization of potentials culture and natural resources. Potential development in tourism had to be shape in development pattern which is conceptual could be integrated between basic principles of development area tourism with custom and traditions from the Baduy society. At this time, there is no clearly guideline to develop potential resources (natural and human) in Baduy Luar region, whereas the exixtence of Baduy Dalam has been absolutely to be an nature preserve region. That’s why there is a necessity of research who could be a direction to develop resource and preservation culture efforts in Baduy Luar region in Regency of Lebak to support potential development as a cultural tourism village which it’s refers to development cultural tourism continuity concept. Potential and constraint in development Baduy region as one of the aim of cultural tourism could be discover by examine Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threat (SWOT) with connecting intercomponent tourism consists of demand and supply. This research has formulate a strategy in develop cultural tourism region who could creating a concept in organizing tourism region continuity and have environment insight without disturbing social culture – custom and traditions of the Baduy society, so it can be a consideration in developing Baduy Luar as a cultural tourism village to be an alternative in tourism activity in Regency of Lebak, Province of Banten.
